Infinity infects the finite.

(John Baez)

Hacking into computers is fun,

hacking into human minds is even better,
but nothing beats hacking into the universe.

Objects and animals slow down as they get bigger.

Notes and phrases get less frequent as they lower tone.

The present is incomplete,

it flows to the future to complete itself.

All are related.

Aho Mitakuye Oyasin....All my relations. I honor you in this circle of life with me today. I am grateful for this opportunity to acknowledge you in this prayer....

To the Creator, for the ultimate gift of life, I thank you.

To the mineral nation that has built and maintained my bones and all foundations of life experience, I thank you.

To the plant nation that sustains my organs and body and gives me healing herbs for sickness, I thank you.

To the animal nation that feeds me from your own flesh and offers your loyal companionship in this walk of life, I thank you.

To the human nation that shares my path as a soul upon the sacred wheel of Earthly life, I thank you.

To the Spirit nation that guides me invisibly through the ups and downs of life and for carrying the torch of light through the Ages, I thank you.

To the Four Winds of Change and Growth, I thank you.

You are all my relations, my relatives, without whom I would not live. We are in the circle of life together, co-existing, co-dependent, co-creating our destiny. One, not more important than the other. One nation evolving from the other and yet each dependent upon the one above and the one below. All of us a part of the Great Mystery.

Thank you for this Life.

(a traditional Lakota Sioux prayer)

Nothing means anything without everything.

Infinity is a big topic.

I don’t think it’s gonna be understood fully in any finite period of time. We have a hint of just how rich that realm is, but we haven’t understood the smallest fraction of it. And this of course is because by its very nature the subject of infinity is a vast and infinite subject.

Into the last good fight I'll ever know
Live and die on this day

To act is easy. To think is hard.

But the hardest thing in the world is to think in accordance with your acting.

To think is easy. To act is hard.

But the hardest thing in the world is to act in accordance with your thinking.

Mathematics catalogues everything that is not self-contradictory;

within that vast inventory, physics is an island of structures rich enough to contain their own beholders.

Black absorbs all,

white reflects all,
colour absorbs some,
and reflects the other.

Black has none,
white has it all,

and lacks the other.

Consciosness forms and expresses,
between cell and body,
and individual and collective,
and sense and action.

The universe forms and expresses,
between particle and black-hole,
and charge and field,
and poosition and moomentum.

Each acquiring their own organs,
at four levels;

Cells are inner to outer,
and female to male,
organs are inner to outer,
and left to right.

Individual is young to old,
and female or/to male,
collective are small to large,
and relative to non-relative,

Senses are inner to outer,
and left to right,
actions are inner to outer,
and left to right.

Particles are young to old,
and small to large,
black-holes are inner to outer,
and small to large.

Charges are mass and electric-charge,
and weak and strong-charge,
fields are gravity and electric-field,
and weak and strong-fields.

Poosition is duration and distance,
and area and volume,
moomentum is energy and momentum,
and acceleration and spin.

Standing at the baggage, passing time:

Austin, Texas, airport–my ride hasn’t come yet.
My former wife is making Web sites from her home,
one son’s seldom seen,
the other and his wife have a boy and girl of their own.
My wife and stepdaughter are spending weekdays in town
so she can get to high school.
My mother, ninety-six, still lives alone and she’s in town, too,
always gets her sanity back just barely in time.
My former former wife has become a unique poet;
most of my work,
such as it is       is done.
Full moon was October 2nd this year,
I ate a mooncake, slept out on the deck,
white light beaming through the black boughs of the pine,
owl hoots and rattling antlers,
Castor and Pollux rising strong–
--it’s good to know that the polestar drifts!
That even our present night sky slips away;
not that I’ll see it.
Or maybe I will, much later,
some far time walking the spirit path in the sky,
that long walk of spirits–where you fall right back into the
“narrow painful passageway of the Bardo”
squeeze your little skull
and there you are again

waiting for your ride

–Gary Snyder

Men fear thought as they fear nothing else on earth,

— more than ruin — more even than death. Thought is subversive and revolutionary, destructive and terrible, thought is merciless to privilege, established institutions, and comfortable habit. Thought looks into the pit of hell and is not afraid. Thought is great and swift and free, the light of the world, and the chief glory of man.

You’re curious and smart and bored, and all you see is the choice between working hard and slacking off.

There are so many adventures that you miss because you’re waiting to think of a plan. To find them, look for tiny interesting choices. And remember that you are always making up the future as you go.

(Munroe, ‘Choices: Part 4’)

Art today is condemned to a separate existence for present day life is essentially tragic.

But in some distant future, art and life will be one.

(Piet Mondrian)
