When you sit down with no painting,

you get lonely.

When you reach 95,

after you get over your surprise,
you start looking back.

(Kirk Douglas)

What are we if we don't try to help others?

We are nothing,
nothing at all.

Consciosness forms and expresses,
between cell and body,
and individual and collective,
and sense and action.

The universe forms and expresses,
between particle and black-hole,
and charge and field,
and poosition and moomentum.

Each acquiring their own organs,
at four levels;

Cells are inner to outer,
and female to male,
organs are inner to outer,
and left to right.

Individual is young to old,
and female or/to male,
collective are small to large,
and relative to non-relative,

Senses are inner to outer,
and left to right,
actions are inner to outer,
and left to right.

Particles are young to old,
and small to large,
black-holes are inner to outer,
and small to large.

Charges are mass and electric-charge,
and weak and strong-charge,
fields are gravity and electric-field,
and weak and strong-fields.

Poosition is duration and distance,
and area and volume,
moomentum is energy and momentum,
and acceleration and spin.

Standing at the baggage, passing time:

Austin, Texas, airport–my ride hasn’t come yet.
My former wife is making Web sites from her home,
one son’s seldom seen,
the other and his wife have a boy and girl of their own.
My wife and stepdaughter are spending weekdays in town
so she can get to high school.
My mother, ninety-six, still lives alone and she’s in town, too,
always gets her sanity back just barely in time.
My former former wife has become a unique poet;
most of my work,
such as it is       is done.
Full moon was October 2nd this year,
I ate a mooncake, slept out on the deck,
white light beaming through the black boughs of the pine,
owl hoots and rattling antlers,
Castor and Pollux rising strong–
--it’s good to know that the polestar drifts!
That even our present night sky slips away;
not that I’ll see it.
Or maybe I will, much later,
some far time walking the spirit path in the sky,
that long walk of spirits–where you fall right back into the
“narrow painful passageway of the Bardo”
squeeze your little skull
and there you are again

waiting for your ride

I am me,

I me am-

am me I-
am I me?

me, am I?
me, I am!

Men fear thought as they fear nothing else on earth,

— more than ruin — more even than death. Thought is subversive and revolutionary, destructive and terrible, thought is merciless to privilege, established institutions, and comfortable habit. Thought looks into the pit of hell and is not afraid. Thought is great and swift and free, the light of the world, and the chief glory of man.

You’re curious and smart and bored, and all you see is the choice between working hard and slacking off.

There are so many adventures that you miss because you’re waiting to think of a plan. To find them, look for tiny interesting choices. And remember that you are always making up the future as you go.

(Munroe, ‘Choices: Part 4’)

Art today is condemned to a separate existence for present day life is essentially tragic.

But in some distant future, art and life will be one.

(Piet Mondrian)

transformation, survival.
